Ceiling fans cannot be controlled with a standard lamp module due to the risk of fire or equipment damage. There are some X-10 modules that can control ceiling fans. One of these is made by Leviton.
Leviton makes non-dimmable wall switches, models 6291 and 6293.
Models 6381 and 6383 are two-way, dimmable wall switch modules.
For ceiling fans and other low voltage applications, there are the 6381-U, 6383-U.
All of these Leviton DHC devices use higher quality signal circuitry for better reliability in communicating with the device.
